1. Overview
SkyLink is a local-first device-to-device transfer app. It discovers devices on the same local network and transfers the files, photos, videos, folders, or text you choose directly between those devices. The current version has no SkyLink account, cloud relay, analytics, advertising, crash-reporting SDK, or developer-operated backend.
This policy describes the data the app processes on your device and during a transfer. “We” means the SkyLink developer. You can contact us at edmailcn@gmail.com.
2. Data processed locally

The developer does not receive this local data. Clearing SkyLink's app data or uninstalling removes the app's private identity, trust, history, and preferences. On Android 9, it also deletes received files left in SkyLink's default private app storage. It does not delete files already saved to a public or user-selected folder.
3. Transfer content
SkyLink processes only content you explicitly select or enter for a transfer. Content travels directly over the local network between the chosen devices using an encrypted connection. The developer does not receive, inspect, index, sell, or retain the content or its transfer metadata.
The receiving device and its user necessarily receive the content and associated details you choose to send. Only connect to and send content to a device you recognize.
4. Permissions and Android capabilities

SkyLink does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, advertising ID, or any broad storage permission (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, or MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE).
5. Security
- Device-to-device connections use TLS 1.3.
- A pairing code is shown during first verification so both users can compare it before accepting.
- An unexpected peer certificate change is not silently trusted; the app requires re-verification.
- Private keys are held by Android Keystore, and Android backup is disabled for SkyLink app data.
No security measure can eliminate every risk. Use a trusted local network, compare the pairing code, and confirm the receiving device before sending sensitive content.
6. Retention and your controls
- Transfer content is retained only on the devices participating in the transfer and is deleted by those device users.
- Transfer history, identity, trust records, blocks, and preferences remain locally until removed by an available in-app control or by clearing app data/uninstalling.
- You can long-press history entries to select and delete one or more records.
- You can block the currently connected peer, unblock a discovered blocked peer, and re-verify a peer whose identity changed.
Because the current version sends no user data to the developer, we normally have no server-side personal data to access, correct, export, or delete. For privacy questions or requests, email edmailcn@gmail.com.
7. Sharing, sale, analytics, and advertising
The current version does not sell user data, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or include advertising or analytics SDKs. SkyLink does not send user data to the developer or a service provider.
If a voluntary Buy Me a Coffee link is included, tapping it opens an external website in your browser. SkyLink does not append your device identity or transfer information to the link. That website operates under its own terms and privacy policy. Supporting the developer does not unlock features or affect transfer limits or speed.
8. Children
SkyLink is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. The current version has no account, age collection, advertising, or developer-side personal-data collection. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's use and the content they send.
9. International transfers
The current version does not transfer user data through developer-operated servers. A direct transfer may cross a jurisdiction only when the users themselves connect devices on a network that routes traffic that way.
10. Changes to this policy
If a future release changes the app's data practices, we will update this policy and its date. When a change requires renewed acknowledgement, SkyLink will show the updated notice before starting discovery or transfer features.
